Mother's Day

I don't think it is easy being a mother, or a parent in general for that matter.  We do the best we can as parents, the best we as individuals know how, but how kids turn out reaches a point beyond our control.  I'm amazed by my kids, don't get me wrong.  For the kook they had to deal with as a mother they have turned out to be awesome.  Maybe there was just enough kook I don't know, I don't pretend to have the answer.  My own mom never got to see my kids, I never got to share my joys, sorrows, and struggles with her.  I never got to get her advice, I only could guess at what she would say.  What I do know is that a lot of my strength came from my mom and I thank her for that.  Our parents are huge influences on our lives but in the end we, as individuals, are responsible for how we turn out.  Today celebrate all the good things your mother gave you and if you are lucky enough to be able to sit down to breakfast, lunch, dinner, a Bloody Mary, you are lucky.
