Junior High to High School

Morgan:

I didn't like Mathew very much the first part of the school year.  He was too full of himself.  I wanted to tell him so but I knew it wouldn't matter.

A moment

He was being tender, slowly pulling me back in.  I was weak when it came to him, I knew it.  He knew it.

First meeting

We stopped at a closed door with stickers on it that said things like DO NOT ENTER, PRIVATE PROPERTY, NO TRESPASSING and she knocked.  Obviously Mathew didn't want visitors and here I was being forced upon him by his mother.

Dreaming

I tried to remember what year it was.  Was it 1973?  No that was when we met.

A morning after

He didn't bother removing the bottles he just pushed them into the center of the table.  The smell of stale beer and cigereetes was strong.
"You boys getting started, or just finishing?" Mathew asked.

A crazy night

Gayle and Morgan at 15:

"I was shocked," I said.  "I'm sure he was throwing it out there thinking that it would never happen."
"I couldn't not take his dare, I felt like it was you and me having the upper hand.  After I said yes he didn't have a choice but to go.  Game on," Gayle said smiling.

Watching the waves

The silence was uncomfortable.  Mathew would look at the ocean and then out of the corner of my eyes I would catch him look at me.  I refused to turn and look at him.

Into my real world

Gayle and Morgan talking/13 years old:

"What else should I have said, you tell me?  Hm, you dig him, you want to kiss him, play with his hair?"
"Stop," I said.  "Of course I wouldn't wan't you to say that, cause none of it's true."
I smiled at her, he had finally broken into my other world.
